Madison Dental Clinic

Location:  Portland, Oregon

Architect:  Kristin Wells and First United Engineering

Description:  Ground-up, single-story, wood-framed, 2000 SF, periodontal dental clinic consisting of five operatories and all related support spaces.  Exterior cladding consists of brick, aluminum storefront, and fiber cement panels. The project is located along a high profile transit corridor on Sandy Boulevard and includes significant Public Works and Right-of-Way improvements.


Beech Medical Office Building

Location:  Portland, OR

Architect:  Ankrom Moison Associated Architects

Description:  Three-story medical office building with 5 first floor retail spaces.  Beech MOB is a steel and concrete structure clad with masonry and glass (storefront & curtain wall).  The first floor interior consists of a lobby, exam room, minor procedure rooms, nurse's stations, waiting, and check in.  The upper two floors are dedicated exclusively for office use.


Cascade AIDS Project - SE Belmont TI

Location: Portland

Architect: Dominek Architecture

Description:  An old commercial kitchen/warehouse space was renovated to become a modern health clinic facility.  Major seismic upgrades were installed throughout, to accommodate the new use and occupancy loading.  New floor plan layout included new kitchen and break room areas, new restrooms, clinic offices, therapy rooms.  Special low volt systems were installed for access control, security, electronic health records, lighting controls.  The project made use of reclaimed and recycled materials in many of the finish selections.


Cascade AIDS Project -  NW Davis TI

Description:  Renovation of the 2nd and 3rd floor suites of an 1890’s brick warehouse building into 14,000 sq feet office and clinic areas for a local non-profit.  This project was fast-tracked through the City of Portland Facilities Permit Division. Construction schedule was 90 days.  The existing gallery/office areas were reconfigured to the client’s requirements with new partition walls, a new mechanical system, new electrical and plumbing fixtures, security system, new flooring, screening and refinishing wood floors, custom casework and reception desk. 


Larson Pediatric Dental Clinic

Description: Ground-up pediatric dental clinic, consisting of six operatories, business office, staff break room, two bathrooms, reception area, medical gas storage room and mechanical room. Exterior wall construction utilized Faswall System (recycled wood pallets with integrated thermal insulation) and HardiPlank siding.


MLK and Graham TI & Parking Lot Renovation

Description:  A 19,000 sq ft bank building’s interior was completely gutted, and renovated to accommodate a state of the art dialysis clinic.  The project included major demolition and shoring of the building’s structural systems, installation of major new structural components, and new site utility systems to accommodate the demand upgrade.   A modern storefront office wing was constructed adjacent to the existing building.  In order to support the increased occupancy load, the parking lot was entirely reconstructed to meet new EPA requirements for storm water run-off.  A series of intricate flow through planter systems was installed, an underground fuel tank was removed from the site, and new City light standards and street signs were installed in the City Right-of-Way. 


Parkside Clinic

Description:  New construction of a 5,221 sq ft medical clinic building housing a chiropractor, and various alternative health professionals.  The building exterior featured end grain salvaged cedar wood panels, corrugated metal panels, and “floating” stucco panels.  B&G designed a 7 ft tall natural rock waterfall feature at the entry vestibule.  Warm wood slat ceilings add sculptural interest to the interior, with engineered wood flooring.  A solar array was installed at the roof, along with a high performance heating/cooling system to maximize energy efficiency. 


Dental Care Today

Description:  A fully operational dental clinic was completely renovated to support the installation of 8 new operatories, new reception areas, new staff room, new doctor’s offices.  Work was carefully coordinated with clinic staff to allow the installation of new medical gas systems and new operatories while existing operatories continued to service patients.  The building’s dated interior design was modernized with a new reception center, new casework throughout, new transom relite panels, new LVT flooring, a new entry vestibule, new light fixtures and an N-lite control system programmed per the client’s requirements. 


Gentech Dental Clinics (Various Locations)

Architect:  Stack Architecture

Description:  B&G Builders performed fast track interior renovation projects on five (5) Gentech Dental Clinics located with the greater Portland area.  The involved installation of new upgraded finishes, casework, reception centers, flooring, doors and hardware, new glass relites.  The Owner’s intent was to standardize Gentech décor throughout the Metro area.  The renovation work was accomplished while clinics were fully operational.  Tight coordination with clinic staff was required to maintain the clinic operations during the installation of the new finishes and systems. 


North by Northeast Community Health Center

Location: Portland

Architect: Stack Architecture

Description:  An existing 2-story office building was remodeled to serve the needs of the N by NE Community Health Clinic, a local non-profit agency serving the NE client population.  Work included new interior partition walls, new exam rooms, new restrooms, break room, medical records rooms, bike parking, landscaping, and bright new architectural finishes.  


Broadway Dental Care Today

Location: Portland

Architect: Stack Architecture

Description:  The site of a former pizzeria and financial services office, this space was renovated into a new dental clinic.  Work included the installation of 6 new operatories, medical gas room and medical gas systems, lab/sterile rooms, doctor’s office, restrooms and waiting areas.  New mechanical, electrical, fire alarm and fire alarm systems were installed to meet the new occupancy loading requirements.
